Yona Shleyner focuses her practice on cases involving workers compensation, insurance defense, employment law and general practice civil litigation. Yona is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia and she is a member of the Montgomery County and American Bar Associations.  She received her J.D. in 2005 from George Mason University School of Law, where she participated in Moot Court competitions and was the Vice President of the student division of the American Bar Association.  She also completed a clinic clerkship for the Honorable Judge Grodner at the Fairfax County District Court. Yona received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2002. Yona was born in Kiev, Ukraine and raised in Skokie, Illinois. She currently resides in Maryland with her family.
